In reality it would be alot easier just to be able to scoop the entire container... Ie take all from the container and put it in your cargo.
This would meen you dont have to close to stop at each container in order to have time to nick all the loot.

Originally by: S'Daria Don't those containers have a volume of 28,000 cubic meters?
Only on the inside, if you fly up and park a ship next to one you can easily see that is not the case for the outside.
Besides, 99% of the time the container holds less than 100m3 of stuff inside it, only time I have ever seen a drop take up more than 100m3 is if there is a drone dropped.
Thus in short, let me rephrase, make a chose to take all from can.

Loot drones is not the way to go, better have tug drones in that case.
Personally I always take everything when I kill NPC as that eases the load on the game and thus I would always take all from container and not worry about leaving stuff untill my cargohull is full.
Lets face it, I have ships built from only basic loot items.

MAKE BPC BLUE, BPC 0 RUNS LEFT RED, BPO GREENASAP.
In that case BPO would be greenprints.
It would be better if you simply implemented the way it works in reality.
Blueprints are the originals, they are blue (yes they are printed on blue paper).
Copies get printed on white paper and thus should be white.
0 run copies... who cares, I always check info before I buy but stamping them with out in red or somthing similar would work fine :)
